Conduct SurveysSurvey-taking takes the top spot on the list.I’ve personally been doing this for years, and I’ll share the inside scoop: how to get started, tips and tricks to make the most money, best practices, and more. OK, here’s how it goes: Survey taking pays you for sharing your honest opinion.Your opinion as a consumer is super valuable. You’re paving the way for how companies design products and services to serve the general public. They are in such need of consumer opinion that they’re willing to pay for it! So, survey companies exist, acting as a middleman between the company and you, the survey taker, helping the companies get the valuable input they are seeking while paying you to share your opinion. And, that’s how survey taking works, in a nutshell.Common Questions About Survey TakingCan you make a full-time income taking surveys? No.You can’t make a full-time income taking surveys. Though you may have heard reports of people earning full-time with surveys, these reasons make it nearly impossible to achieve. Low-paying surveys
    •
    • Surveys are inconsistent.
    • Surveys take too much time for the money.
These reasons may sound negative, but they're the reality. This doesn’t mean you can’t make money. You can make money with surveys, even as much as $100 or more for a single survey (more on this below), but will you make thousands per month from surveys? Probably not.We want to be fully transparent here.Is it hard to take surveys? No, not at all.Surveys are super easy. You are answering questions based on your opinion. So, there’s no wrong answer. The important thing to remember is to be honest.Do you need a computer to take surveys?Nope, a computer is not needed, but you will need internet access. So, if you can gain internet access through your smartphone, tablet, public library, or internet cafe, then you can take paid online surveys. How many surveys can you take? There’s usually no cap on the number of surveys you can take, depending on the company. There are tons of survey companies available, and survey takers usually join multiple survey sites to maximize their earnings. Each survey company will have their own rules and restrictions, but generally, there isn’t a limit on how many surveys you can take (unless dictated by the survey company). How can you make the most money with surveys? Here’s how you can make the most money with surveys:
    • Treat it like a job.
    • Be professional.
    • Track your work.
    • Join multiple survey sites to make the most money.
    • Time block
Is it worth it?Yes, for the most part. You’re trading your time for money. Can you make $30/day with surveys?Definitely. Here are some survey companies to join:

2. Take part in panels

Panels are like surveys, but they are longer and pay better.

Surveys take 2–15 minutes, usually.

Panels take 30 minutes at a minimum and can range from several weeks long.

Panels also pay $40 to $500 each, sometimes more.

I’ve participated in 3 panels over the past few years that paid $100, $125, and $400.

I think panels are a great complement to surveys.

You may not get the opportunity to participate in them as frequently as surveys.

Think along the lines of perhaps 2-3 panels per month instead of daily surveys.

But, they are so high-paying that you literally only need a handful every month to end up making an average of $30/day.

3. Create a Shopify store.

Shopify is an e-commerce platform where you can open and operate an online store.

Why open an online store?

If you’ve ever been bitten by the entrepreneurial bug, then you know that entrepreneurship is not an opportunity that is afforded to everyone.

And many people who try are unsuccessful.

So, if you’ve ever been curious about owning your own business, you can venture into it easily with a Shopify store.

There are many store platforms online, but Shopify is my favorite, by far, and I’ve tried multiple.

What You’ll Love About Shopify

  • Easy to operate.
  • Affordable month-long plans
  • All of your business needs can be met in a single location.
  • They have an app available.
  • Plus, more!

They can help you run your store and assist in every aspect of business, from customer service to fulfillment, marketing, sourcing, and more.

The App Store has apps for everything.

Do you require Facebook ads?

They’ve got an app for it.

Looking for a way to capture email leads?

They’ve got an app for it.

With your own online store, you can sell products or services to the general public and make a nice side hustle or full-time income.

Sell home goods, apparel, gift items, baby gear, toys, consumer electronics, the list continues.

Learn more about Shopify to get started.

4. Sell your household items on eBay.

Go around your house and make a pile of home and household goods that you can sell.

Then, list them on eBay for a profit.

Here are some examples of items you can sell around the house:

  • Ice cream maker.
  • Toaster
  • Blender
  • Hand mixer
  • Rugs and textiles
  • Wall art
  • Pillows
  • Curtains and linens
  • Art
  • And more!

You aren’t limited to only home goods.

You can sell outgrown kids' clothes, shoes, outerwear, toys, consumer electronics, etc.

5. Experiment with Amazon Retail Arbitrage

Retail arbitrage is the practice of buying and selling goods for the purpose of making a profit.

For example, you can buy a blender at Wal-mart on sale for $10 and resell it on Amazon for $40.

The profit, $30 (before fees), is all yours.

And, that’s how retail arbitrage works.

People do retail arbitrage full-time and make a nice living doing it.

How to Get Started

First, source products.

Sourcing products means the process of researching where you’ll be finding the products.

This can involve researching sales and clearance stores, visiting stores in person, finding products, and buying them.

Then, you’ll list it online.

Some of the tasks involve looking at the market to see how you can price the goods competitively to make a profit.

Then, you sell!

Once sold, the goods are shipped to the consumer.

Rinse and repeat, and you’ve got yourself a retail arbitrage business.

Places to Source Products

  • Wal-mart
  • Dress for Less Ross
  • The Bath & Body Works
  • Target
  • Pier One
  • Costco
  • Lowes
  • Home Depot
  • At Home
  • And, the list continues!

You can do retail arbitrage with virtually every retail store, including online stores!

Common Questions About Retail Arbitrage

Can you do retail arbitrage online?

Yes, absolutely!

You can combine retail arbitrage with dropshipping and have a totally hands-off fulfillment process.

This is how it would look:

You source products from online stores, like a candle from Bath and Body Works on sale for the week for $5.

Once you make a sale that week for $15, you pocket the difference ($10 before fees).

And, to ship to the consumer, you just dropship the order.

So, you head to the Bath and Body Works website and place the order online, shipping direct to your customer.

Easy!

When will you start making money?

When you start making money, it varies and is based on many factors.

You could make your first sale on the same day, or it could take a few days or a few weeks for it to happen.

It can happen at any time.

How much money can you make?

You can earn an unlimited amount of money.

To make $900/month, you’d need to average $30 per day in sales (or profit) to hit your goal.

How much startup capital is required?

You can start with a little capital or a lot, depending on your budget.

A lot of people new to retail arbitrage begin with a handful of items, first sourced from around their home, so they don’t have to front any startup capital at all.

Then, the profit made from those sales will fuel the next round of purchases for your retail arbitrage business.

If those items sell, rinse and repeat.

This is a slow and steady way to start your retail arbitrage business without having to use your own money out of pocket.

Can I do retail arbitrage in other places aside from Amazon?

Yes, you can do retail arbitrage on multiple online platforms and marketplaces like eBay, Storenvy, Facebook Marketplace, etc.

6. Go thrifting and list your finds on Poshmark.

This is a form of retail arbitrage too, but instead of selling on Amazon, you’ll sell on Poshmark.

Source goods from thrift stores, flea markets, garage sales, clearance stores, and stores offering goods on sale, then buy at a great price and relist on Poshmark to make a profit.

I recently started this at the beginning of the holiday season and sold 2 items in the first 2 weeks or so.

7. Work as a virtual assistant

A virtual assistant is like working as an online personal assistant.

There are general virtual assistants (VA’s) and specialized VA’s.

A general VA performs basic administrative tasks in an online capacity, like:

  • Answering emails
  • Answering phones
  • Calendar management
  • Event coordination
  • Being the middleman between the client and vendors
  • Scheduling activities and events
  • And more!

A specialized VA performs specialized tasks based on their client’s needs and according to their skillset.

Specialized VAs work in various industries like tech, design, marketing, etc.

Take an inventory of your skills to figure out where you land.

Virtual assistants can make $15/hour starting out as a general VA and $50/hour or more as a specialized VA.

It’s not difficult to make $30/day as a VA.

It’s a great job to have because it’s flexible, higher-paying, and you can work part-time and earn a nice income on the side.

Where to Find VA Jobs

  • Facebook
  • Other social media channels

11. Get paid to use Pinterest.

This is similar to the Instagram gig we described above, except it’s for Pinterest!

What Can You Blog About?

There are tons of different niches you can choose to base your blog on.

You’ll go really far if you choose your passion.

  • And more!

Are There Startup Costs?

Next, let's talk about startup costs.

Are there costs for starting a blog?

Yes.

Are they affordable?

Yes.

With many side hustles, there may be an up-front expense required, and blogging is no different.

The good thing is that the cost is relatively cheap.

Here’s a breakdown of the costs required to start a blog and an estimate of what they might be:

  • Hosting
  • Domain

That’s it!

There are tons of hosting platforms.

We really like Hostgator.

They offer low-cost monthly plans for less than the cost of a fast food meal combo.

Then, your domain cost measures out to be around $9/year. We recommend going with Namecheap.

So, for less than $20, you can be on your way to starting your own blog.

What’s Required to Start Blogging?

When you’re ready to start blogging, what exactly is required?

You’ll need:

  • Time
  • Resources
  • The drive to succeed

blogging time commitment

This is really based on your schedule and how much time you have available to devote to blogging.

The tasks you need to do will drive this time commitment, and for a new blog, your focus will likely be on the content.

This means writing a lot of articles to publish on your blog.

You can do blogging after work.

You can blog on the weekends.

You can blog during breaks and lunches at your day job.

This is a flexible gig and a reason why so many people have fallen in love with blogging, so you really have full control over your schedule.

Resources Needed to Get Started

As shared above, hosting and a domain are needed to start your blog.

You can learn more about the entire process of starting your blog in our free 7-step guide that shows you how to start a blog!

drive to succeed.

Lastly, you should be driven.

This blogging journey is just that—a journey, not a race.

Take your time, perfect your skills, educate yourself along the way.

Consistency is the biggest key to success when it comes to blogging, so just keep going!

How Long Before You Start Making Money?

This can vary and is based on many factors.

You can monetize your blog in a variety of ways, including through affiliate marketing, sponsorships, advertising, and your own products and services.

With affiliate marketing, you promote products on your blog and earn a commission when your promotional efforts result in a sale.

For example, if you refer a candle subscription box for $20/month with a 10% commission and you book one sale this month, you earn a $2 commission!

There are so many different affiliate programs available.

There’s room to make a lot of money just by referring different products to your blog readers.

Next are blog sponsorships.

With sponsorships, you’ll have sponsors pay you to talk about them on your blog.

For example, if you run a food blog, you might have a cookie company pay you to talk about them to your audience.

Sponsorships can earn you hundreds to tens of thousands of dollars or more per sponsor!

The larger your blog is, typically, the more money you can make, though microinfluencers can make a lot of money with sponsorships, too, like this blogger who earns a full-time income through sponsorships alone.

Then you have advertising.

Have you ever visited a website that had ads on it?

Those ads are a way that the website is making money.

If you work with an ad network, every time an ad is clicked, you make money!

And yes, you can make a full-time income from advertising earnings alone.

Lastly, you have products and services that can make you money.

These are your own products that you create and sell to your readers, like:

  • Ebooks
  • Digital courses
  • Merchandise like apparel, footwear, branded gear, etc.
  • Printables
  • Calendars
  • Coffee mugs
  • Home goods

You can also sell services, like:

  • Consulting
  • Coaching

So there are many ways you can make money blogging.

Back to the original question, how long before you start making money blogging?

It can happen on day one, to be honest with you.

You can start earning from the first day your blog is live.

It can also happen 3 months from that date or a year later.

Be consistent and keep pushing forward!

30. Deliver with Favor

Favor is the place where you can get anything delivered.

This app was one of the first that quickly became my favorite among others like Grub Hub, etc.

And this was because Favor partnered with such a larger network of stores so I had greater variety when I ordered takeout food to deliver to home, which I really loved.

Drivers are called runners and they are in charge of picking up the restaurant order and delivering it to the customer.

They deliver everything from takeout food, dry cleaning, groceries, and more.

Some of the perks include being able to keep 100% of tips, part-time and full-time work opportunities, with the ability to earn $10 to $18 per hour.

32. Learn and practice day trading

I recently saw a case study video online where a beginner trader made around $500 in a few days doing day trading.

He documented his journey and it looked easy enough.

Here’s how you can learn and practice day trading:

First, learn how to day trade.

  • Take a course
  • Teach yourself through video tutorials (look to YouTube, Skillshare, etc.)
  • Get a mentor and learn by example

Then, take it into your own hands and start day trading.

33. Do Ebay Arbitrage

Ebay arbitrage is a form of retail arbitrage but, for Ebay.

In retail arbitrage, you buy products from retailers and resell anywhere to make a profit, including consignment stores, thrift stores, Amazon, Letgo, Offerup, Facebook marketplace, other social networks, etc.

With Ebay arbitrage, it’s the same process, except you are reselling on Ebay only.

Ebay is a great place for reselling because it’s a huge marketplace that many people know about.

It gets tons of traffic every single place and the idea place to make money flipping products in a retail arbitrage model.

For example, you could by a pair of furry house shoes on sale at Walgreens for $10 and resell on Ebay for $25, pocketing $15 (before fees) as profit for yourself.

Tons of people do this practice full-time as their day job and earn up to six figures or more doing it!

34. Open a computer repair business

Computer repair is a big business.

If your computer breaks, you need to find someone to repair it and working with a small business or professional will be a lot more cost effective than working with a larger company, usually.

36. Sell digital courses online

Selling courses online is a great way to make money passively.

Think about it.

You write a course to solve a problem then publish it online and sell that course 24/7, with the potential to make money in your sleep.

How to Create a Digital Course?

You can use several programs to create your course, including:

Where to Sell a Digital Course?

You can sell courses on social media, on marketplaces, to your network like your email list, family and friends, and the general public.

How Much Can You Make as a Digital Course Creator?

37. Become a course instructor on Udemy

Udemy is a course marketplace.

When you publish your course on Udemy, you get the chance to have your course seen and purchased by tons of people.

The benefit of going on Udemy is that you will have exposure to their huge audience.

It’s like selling your stuff on Amazon compared to selling it on your brand new online store.

Amazon has huge exposure so if you’re just starting out, you might find that you get more sales from the powerhouse marketplace, compared to your brand new, tiny online presence.

Make sense?

And, that’s how it is with Udemy.

You don’t have to spend tons of money trying to market your course online, paying for advertising, consultants, sales coaches, etc.

You can just publish on Udemy!

The drawback is that your course price is subject to Udemy’s pricing structure so, if they decide to hold a $10 sitewide sale, that means your course (regardless of the price) will be selling for $10.

It’s a free to join marketplace and you can learn more on Udemy.

38. Monetize a Facebook group

Facebook groups are an untapped source of revenue that many people don’t know about.

If you don’t know about Facebook groups, they are little communities on Facebook that are created by Facebook users.

And, these communities are about various topics.

Anybody can create a group and there are several group types you can create, including:

  • General: Grow and manage your group with the standard set of group features
  • Buy and Sell: Create and manage sale listings · Specify currency in a post
  • Gaming: Link group to a game · Host tournaments for members
  • Social Learning: Organize posts into a unit or series of units that members can see
  • Jobs: Get templates with job salary, location and hours · Show a list of all open jobs
  • Work: Only show work-related profile info to members · Contact members without adding them as friends

There are Facebook groups that create community about single motherhood, vegan eating, military lifestyle, small business owners, local garage sale groups, local community and neighborhood groups, groups around a specific profession like nurses, bloggers, etc. and so much more!

How Do You Monetize Facebook Groups?

You monetize the group by selling a product or service.

It’s a lot easier than you might think and there are two approaches to this:

  • As the group board admin
  • As a group member

First, as a group board admin, that means that you created the group.

Creating a group is pretty easy but growing that community can take a lot of hard work and time.

I have a small group that I’ve had for almost 4 years with around 5,300 members.

There are groups with hundreds of members, groups with hundreds of thousands of members, and in between!

So, as the admin, you have a lot of presence in the group.

You will be doing group moderation, leading discussion topics, hosting Facebook lives, and more.

You’ll be known in the group.

This is a great opportunity to sell your expertise to your group.

You can do this through selling products like merchandise, for example, or selling services, like coaching, consulting, etc.

Next, as a group member, you have an opportunity to network big time!

You don’t have to sell directly, in order to make money from your peers in the group.

I joined a 10K+ member group around a particular topic.

It was a topic that people were passionate about and there were ongoing new discussion threads daily about the topic, many discussions that asked for the opinion and feedback of others.

I took that opportunity to participate in the group and network.

I shared my expertise, gave advice, answered questions, and mingled with group members.

There was no major effort to this at all.

I only joined in on around 3 moderately-sized discussions and there were dozens of discussions being created daily/

The first month I joined the group, I earned almost $600 from group members!

And, this was not with serious effort.

I did the same with a handful of other groups and ended up earning over $1,000 total in my first month becoming more active in groups!

So, there are ways you can monetize Facebook groups as the admin and as the group member.

Not to mention there are actual Buy/Sell groups where the sole purpose of the group is to buy and sell stuff.

This is an awesome opportunity to make money through groups, too!

Sound interesting?

39. Organize closets for your neighbors

Closet organization can be big business!

Are a self-starter?

Are you an organization freak?

Why not monetize those skills and organize closets for extra money?

This is actually how Kim Kardashian got her start, by organizing closets.

According to this source, you can charge $30 to $80 per hour!

40. Start an event planning business

Event planning means you’ll get paid to plan events for others.

This can include:

  • Weddings
  • Birthday parties
  • Anniversary celebrations
  • Quinceanaras
  • Baby showers
  • Bachelor parties
  • And more!

My good friend recently broke into this business and absolutely loves it!

Her 9 to 5 job involves event planning and organization so this was right up her alley and she secured 4 clients in her first 2-3 months of starting.

A single event can command thousands, just in planning fees.

41. Clean houses

Make money, to the tune of $30/day cleaning houses!

This is a chore a lot of people hate.

It takes a lot of time and it needs to be done on an ongoing basis.

More and more people are outsourcing this job to house cleaners.

When my family had house cleaners last year, it ran about $135/month and they came to the home once a month to clean.

The clean took about 3-4 hours and they did a great job, doing things like:

  • Sweeping and mopping floors
  • Vacuuming the entire home
  • Doing dishes
  • Dusting and wiping down flat surfaces
  • Cleaning the bathrooms and kitchen
  • Light organizing

If you cleaned houses on the side and charged $135/month for 1 cleanings per month, that means you’d only need 7 clients to make equivalent of $30/day.

This is perfect for those that enjoy cleaning, organizing, household chores, and enjoy helping people through house cleaning.

42. Wash cars

Wash cars for your neighbors and make money doing it!

This is a great Saturday afternoon kind of job where you can earn cash and if you add extra services like vacuuming the interior, light detailing, or cleaning tires, you can make a lot of money.

There’s also something called mobile detailing where you travel to visit clients and detail their vehicle on site.

Companies are charging $75 to $135 per car, doing this and the money you make will add up fast.

This source shares that mobile detailers that detail 2 cars/day can make an extra nearly $24,000 per year.

Landscaping is taking care of the lawns, bushes, and greenery of homes.

44. Get paid to travel

Yes, you can get paid to travel.

It sounds like a dream job, doesn’t it?

How it works?

Companies will pay influencers to review their business, product, or service and travel bloggers actually get paid to travel, whether they are visiting a store grand opening, hosting an event, filming their restaurant review, etc.

Other than becoming a travel influencer, there are other ways to get paid to travel.

Check out these opportunities:

  • Mystery shopping
  • Give boat tours or bus tours
  • Work as a transporter

45. Turn your car into a driving billboard

You can make money by turning your car into a driving billboard, earning up to $1,200/month or more!

How It Works?

You partner with a car wrap company who will wrap your car in advertising.

And, they pay you every month, based on your commute, the city you live in, how many miles you drive, and other factors, to be a driving billboard around your city.

What’s Involved?

Each company may have different rules and requirements.

Basically, you’ll need to make sure:

  • You are 18 years old or older (21 year old minimum, with some companies)
  • You have a drivers license
  • Your car meets certain age requirements
  • And other rules and restrictions

These companies will pay you to drive your car wrapped in advertising:

  • Many more companies

Check out more info on how you can make money with car wraps.

46. Dropservicing

Last on the list is this new type of arbitrage that more and more people are adopting, called dropservicing.

Dropshipping is the fulfillment model where a third party supplier will fulfill orders for your ecommerce business.

Instead of you holding inventory and shipping orders directly to customers, the supplier will.

Dropservicing is dropshipping services.

How Does It Work?

You offer services to the general public and when you book a client, you’ll then outsource the work to another professional, keeping the difference as profit.

Here are some examples:

You book a client online that needs help with Facebook ad management and they hire you for $2,000/month.

You then, hire a Facebook ad manager to perform the tasks for that job, for $1,000/month, leaving YOU with $1,000/month profit.

You sell voiceover services on Fiverr and when you get an order, you contact a voiceover freelancer to perform that job for you, keeping the difference as profit.

Voiceover service is booked for $500 and you hire a freelancer to do the job at $200, keeping the difference, $300 as profit.

This is how a lot of agencies work.

They bring on a team of staff that can perform the work and they pay them a lesser amount than the contract they secured with the client.

How Much Can You Make?

This amount can vary depending on the job.

There is potential to make $30/day or more doing dropservicing.

What Are the Benefits of Dropservicing?

The benefits include flexible work arrangement, being the boss, controlling the pay, schedule, and other perks.

How to Get Started

Begin by figuring out what services industry you want to target:

  • Copywriting
  • Voiceover
  • SEO
  • Digital marketing
  • Or, other services

Then, create your business.

Define a plan for acquiring clients, while recruiting freelancers that can perform the work.

Then, execute the strategy, get clients and get paid!

This is a great one for part-time or full-time income.
