- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the last row. Make sure to create space.
- Enter the URL to block.
- Go to File and choose Save.
To do this, you must have access to the hosts file. Also, make sure to restart your computer to make sure the website is blocked.
How to block websites on Windows 10 Defender Firewall
Windows 10 has proven to be very effective at filtering and preventing unwanted applications from damaging your computer. It's also a great tool to rely on when using public networks.
But did you know that Windows 10 Defender Firewall can be improved by blocking specific websites?
If your firewall allows access to the site in question, you can set it so that no one at home, school, or workplace will open it. Here's how it works:
- Launch Control Panel on your computer.
- Select Windows Defender Firewall via Advanced Settings in the left pane.
- Right-click Outbound Rules and select New Rule from the menu on the left.
- When the new window pops up, select Custom followed by Next.

How to Find the IP Address of a Website

- Open Command Prompt Manager by typing CMD into the search box.
- Go to nslookup www.facebook.com and press the Enter button.
- You will see two IPs listed, IPv4 and IPv6. When entering information in Windows Defender settings, you need to copy both.
How to Block Websites in Chrome on Windows 10 PC
If you manage your business and have Google administrator account permissions, you can block specific websites. If members of your organization use Chrome, they won't be able to access sites you've blocked. Here's how to block a website on Chrome as an administrator:
- Sign in to Google Workspace as an administrator account.
- On the home page, click Devices via Chrome and then Settings.

- Launch Microsoft Edge on your Windows 10 computer.
- Click the three horizontal dots in the upper right corner of the screen.
- From the drop-down menu, select Extensions.
- Select Get extensions for Microsoft Edge .
- Search Block Site or browse Productivity .
- After making your selection, click on the extension next to Get .
- When the popup appears, select Add extension.
After the installation is complete, go to the website you want to block and click Block Site on the browser toolbar.

Block adult sites Windows 10
If you're a parent or caregiver worried about your child's access to online content, there's a way to minimize this problem.
First, you'll need to change your Microsoft account settings and create a designated profile for your child. You can then take advantage of the filter feature that blocks adult websites. It's not a complicated setup. Here are all the steps:
- Go to the Microsoft Family Safety page and log in to your account.
- Click on Add a family member .
- Enter your child's email address. Make sure it's an Outlook or Hotmail account.
